a-squared Scanner - Scan method
Start the scanner and choose your preferred scan method:
-
Quick Scan
This scan gives only basic information about a Malware infection on your PC.
Just active processes are under examination. In addition to that the scanner inspects
for Spyware traces and Tracking Cookies.
-
Smart Scan
This Scan method is well adapted for most systems. The most important system indices
like the Windows index and the program index are under examination. Furthermore
all active programs are checked and scanned for Spyware traces and Tracking Cookies.
-
Deep Scan
This full system scan should be chosen at least once after the installation
of a-squared Anti-Malware. The scan could last a long time depending on hard
disk dimension and number of existing files. All available scanner features
are used for a detailed search.
-
Manage whitelist
That inconspicuous link leads you to the exceptions dialogue.
There you can select folders which shall not be scanned generally.
Therefor click on the "..." button and choose the preferred folders not to scan.
The button "Add" adds the folder to the whitelist.
Alternatively you can define Malware names which shall not be announced
in later scans. That i.e. is helpful, if you use a program on your PC which a-squared
rates as Riskware (Risware: not risky but useable in conjunction with Malware). In that
case enter the full name of the Malware, i.e. Riskware.RemoteAdminXY and click on "Add"
afterwards.
